Twitter Terms of Service – Ministry of Energy
The Ministry of Energy’s Twitter account (@OntMinEnergy) is managed by the Ontario Ministry of Energy Communications Branch. If you choose to follow @OntMinEnergy or communicate with us on Twitter.com read below to find how we plan to communicate with you. If you don’t choose to follow us then you can still read our posts at http://twitter.com/ONtminenergy or learn more about the Ministry of Energy on ontario.ca/energy.
@OntMinEnergy will be posting on average 1-3 tweets a day about Ontario energy for residents and businesses.
We will update and monitor @OntMinEnergy during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays observed in Ontario. Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and during those downtimes we are not responsible for lack of service.
We will read all @replies and Direct Messages sent to us and, when possible, will respond to them in their language of origin and will pass on communications as appropriate.
If you follow @OntMinEnergy, we will not automatically follow you back. Being followed by @OntMinEnergy does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Please do not send us personal information when responding to @OntMinEnergy tweets or when sending other communications to us through Twitter. Any personal information received through the @OntMinEnergy Twitter account will be treated as a communication by you through the Government of Ontario’s website and will be handled by us in accordance with the Government of Ontario’s website Privacy Statement.
Twitter.com has rules of conduct which we will follow and expect our followers will as well including that your communications will not:
- falsely claim to represent a person, organization or entity;
- violate or infringe the rights of another person or entity;
- be abusive, hateful, incite hatred, racist, bigoted, sexist, harassing, threatening, inflammatory, indecent, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous, knowingly false, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, profane or otherwise objectionable or otherwise in violation of any law, rule or regulation; or
- contain personal information about a third party
Any feedback and ideas you provide to us remain yours. However, by providing feedback and ideas to us, you are granting Her Majesty the Queen in right of Ontario (“Ontario”) your permission to use, copy, modify, publish and transmit your feedback and permit others (whether within or outside the Government of Ontario) to do so, without the need to seek further permission from you and without any compensation to you.
